VIRGINIA "GINNY" (WEGSCHEID) RICHTER

1928-2014

The Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia "Ginny" (Wegscheid) Richter of Wadena, Minn., will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 14, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena with Fr. Aaron Kuhn as celebrant. Friends may call on Thursday, March 13, from 4 until 8 p.m., at St. Ann's Parish Center, with a Christian Mothers rosary service at 5 p.m. and parish prayers at 6 p.m. Visitation continues on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Virginia was called to be with the Lord on March 9, at age 85, at her home in the loving care of her family.

Ginny was born to Alois and Clara (Langer) Wegscheid on April 1, 1928 at their home in Bluffton. She was united in marriage with James "Jim" Joseph Richter on June 14, 1949 in Bluffton. They made their home and raised their family near Wadena. Ginny was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, whose hours were filled with flower gardening, sewing, cooking, baking, knitting, beading and creating Rosaries, watching EWTN, and playing the piano. Ginny was the organist at St. Frederick's Catholic Church in Verndale for many years and was a member of Christian Mothers.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Clara; and sister, Betty Huebsch.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Dennis (Barb) of Verndale, Minn., Ronald (Janice) of Long Prairie, Minn., Gary (Cindy) of Hewitt, Minn., Joseph (Pam) of Hewitt and Nick (Sheri) of Sartell, Minn.; daughters, Margie (Jarry) Cole of Annandale, Minn., Carol Mois (Graham Ouimet) of Stacy, Mary (Gene) Denny of Hewitt and Janet (Brian) Spreiter of Baxter, Minn.; 36 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ervin (Delores), David (Rita), Leroy (Ruth), Tom (Georgette) and Dick (Brenda) Wegscheid; sisters, Evelyn (Nestor) Vorderbruggen, Dorothy (David) Adams and Donna Wegscheid; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Wadena.

The family requests that memorials be made for Masses.
