'Voices from the Resistance' at ITOW
Pippa White will present three performances of "Voices from the Resistance" at the ITOW Veterans Museum in Perham on Oct. 12 and 13.
"Voices from the Resistance" is a one-woman drama that tells the true stories of five resistance fighters in World War II. They were ordinary people who risked their lives every day to do what they could to bring down the Nazi regime. Their stories of helping Jews escape, distributing anti-Nazi propaganda, and even guerilla warfare are fascinating, inspiring and true.
White's production is suitable for a wide range of audiences, from history buffs to students to families with older children.
White has nearly 20 years of experience as a solo performer. She calls her productions, "part theatre, part storytelling, part history." She has toured in 27 states, performing at colleges, conferences, museums, libraries, festivals and performing arts centers.
This performance is one of many scheduled during the "Our Lives, Our Stories: America's Greatest Generation" installation at ITOW.
"Voices from the Resistance" will be presented on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
With financial support from Arts Midwest, the Saturday matinee at 3 p.m. is free to seniors. Complimentary tickets are also available to veterans for all performances; these should be reserved in advance.
