HENNING -- The Eagles volleyball team dropped a tight second set that drained momentum for set three falling in a 3-0 sweep at Henning in the first Park Region Conference game of the year.

"Definitely not what we wanted but games one and two were good," Head Coach Angela Paavola said. "As soon as we make that leap and win games like game two it will give the team the confidence they need so that game three won't happen."

The second set went to the Hornets 26-24 and led to an easy match win. Henning won the third set 25-11.

"(Henning) played good defense and made many saves and good plays," said Paavola. "Mental errors at the most inopportune times cost us greatly. Henning makes very few mistakes and we made too many on our side to beat them."

Jackie Imsande led New York Mills with nine kills and one solo block.

Ellie Rutten had five kills. Taylor Plautz had four.

Brooke Kupfer led the Eagles with 12 digs. Tori Kempenich had seven, to go with three kills.

Lexie Rankka was a perfect 10 for 10 serving, had six digs and 15 assists, another team high.
