GLYNDON -- After a five-set nail biter over Pelican Rapids Thursday night, the Perham volleyball team had a tall task Friday traveling to top-seeded Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in Class 2A, Section 8 South sub-section volleyball.

The Rebels defeated the Yellowjackets 3-0, by scores of 25-11, 25-14, 25-14.

"The five-set match at Pelican Rapids took its toll on the girls," Head Coach Dan Christenson said. "They played with little enthusiasm and just couldn't get going."

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton's Mandy Mercil tallied 26 assists to break the career school record and pace the Rebels to victory.

Hannah Young led D-G-F with nine kills and Amy Bentow recorded eight blocks.

"We struggled to get balls hit past the great blocking of D-G-F," Christenson said.

D-G-F will play in Perham against Wadena-Deer Creek Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m in the subsection finals for a trip to the section final against the winner of Pequot Lakes and Thief River Falls.

Perham ends their season with a record of 9-19-1.
