A photo of his new car on Facebook could come back to haunt a Wadena man charged for failing to register that vehicle because of his predatory offender status.

On April 11, a sheriff's deputy saw a photo of a 1993 BMW 325i allegedly posted by Brandon David Wing, 22, on his Facebook account the previous day. As a registered predatory offender, Wing is required to register any change of address, vehicle or workplace within five days of the change.

Authorities visited Wing on April 18, and questioned him about the new vehicle. He said he was meaning to come over and register the vehicle and his new employer from New York Mills, but hadn't yet. Wing said he hadn't registered the vehicle because it was "not his" yet.

Wing was charged April 20 with two counts of failure to register as a predatory offender -- one for his vehicle and one for his new place of employment. Both are felonies.

He also has a third charge pending from Jan. 13 of this year, for failure to register as a sex offender.
