Wayne Erickson, 64, of Audubon, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo.
Landon Wayne Erickson, known as Wayne, was born to Emil and Thora (Zachariason) Erickson on Oct. 23, 1943 in Hawley. He attended District 15 rural elementary school in rural Hawley, and Hawley and Audubon high schools. He served with the U.S. Army and, following his discharge, returned to the Audubon area, where he drove a milk truck. He later drove truck for Haukedahl Trucking in Audubon, and then worked as a mechanic for several area trucking firms. He loved country music and, in his younger days, played guitar and sang in a number of bands. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Wayne is survived by three sons, Wade (Bonnie) Erickson of Audubon, Lenny and Lanny Erickson, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Delores (Arvid) Rosing and Gail Laney, both of Audubon.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Mansal, Wesley and Donald; as well as two sisters, Gladys and an infant sister.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 28 at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes and at the church one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, rural Audubon.
Interment will be in the Eksjo Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lake Park, with Military Rites provided by American Legion Post 339, Audubon. The David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes is assisting the family.
