WCI named a top community foundation in the state
West Central Initiative (WCI) has been ranked seventh on the Minnesota Council on Foundations’ newly released list of the state’s top 25 community and public foundations. The initiative is also ranked 42nd on the council’s top 50 Minnesota grant-makers by assets.
Last year, WCI ranked eighth and 41st, respectively.
WCI is a regional community foundation serving the counties of Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin. WCI works to strengthen the economy of west central Minnesota so that families, communities and businesses can thrive. It does this using the tools of economic development, community development and philanthropy.
“We partner with the people of our region to build a bright future. Our local partners help us identify the most important issues and we rely on them to know the best way to address their challenges. They come through every time,” said WCI President Nancy Straw.
The Minnesota Council on Foundations compiles Minnesota grant-maker rankings each year. It ranks Minnesota foundations by grants and program-related investments paid in a given year. To see all the lists, visit www.mcf.org/research/rankings.
