Snow in mid-April always seems like more of an anomaly than it actually is. Fargo-Moorhead averages 3 inches of snow for April.

Some years, this is that last little bit before it all melts. Other years, this is that late-spring snow that falls long after the winter snow has melted. Some years, April snowfall is above average. Some years, there is no snow in April. April is just that way. But April snow is not unusual, even if it is unsettling.
