Whiskey Creek Film Festival to be held in Wadena Sept. 9-15
The Whiskey Creek Film Festival, sponsored by the Whiskey Creek Film Festival Association, will again feature six feature films in current theatrical release (not yet out on DVD).
These films will be award-winning work recognized at film festivals around the nation, such as the Sundance Film Festival. Additionally, there will be a special free family film screened at matinees on Friday and Saturday of the festival week.
The festival also includes a Minnesota Short Film event. Submissions are sought for films made in Minnesota and by Minnesota residents in 2010 or 2011. Films should be submitted in DVD format and should have a runtime between one and 10 minutes.
All films must include stamped, self-addressed return envelopes if the filmmaker wishes to have his or her films returned after the selection process is completed. Short films should be submitted to Whiskey Creek Film Festival, c/o Cozy Theatre, 223 Jefferson Street South, Wadena, MN 56482.
Film submissions may be in any genre, including live action and animated. Filmmakers whose work is selected for screening at the festival will be eligible to receive an Audience Choice award of $100 and three honorable mention awards of $50 each.
