White Earth man shooting victim

WHITE EARTH —A White Earth man was the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot Thursday.

According to the Becker County Sheriff's office, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Thursday, August 15, a report was received of a possible shooting in the east projects of White Earth, Minn.

When officers arrived on the scene, they identified the victim as 28-year-old Kristopher Lee Villebrun. The victim had an entry and exit wound to the upper part of his leg.

The incident was initially reported as a drive-by shooting but there was no evidence to substantiate such a claim. At this time, the incident appears to have been an accidental, self-inflicted, gunshot.
