Both teams played an even first half with the Wildcats going into the break up three, 33-30.

"We haven't played a team so far this year with the ability to shoot the ball from the outside like New London-Spicer," Perham Head Coach John Gullingsrud said.

Thunstedt scored a game-high 29 points shooting 7-16 (44 percent) from three-point land.

As a freshman last season, Thunstedt made 92 threes shooting 42 percent averaging 17.4 points per game.

"We were able to hang in there in the first half, as we made some shots, as well, but when we went cold in the second half it got away from us in a hurry."

The Wildcats set up defensively in a zone forcing Perham to shoot from outside, but shots would not fall for the Yellowjackets.

Meanwhile, the three-point machine of Thunstedt and Radel continued. Radel was 5-10 (50 percent) from downtown.

The duo, by themselves, outscored Perham 47-40 needing little help from their other Wildcat teammates in the scoring department. Combined, the rest of the team scored 14 points.

Katrina Moenkedick led Perham with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Becky Stoll pulled in 10 rebounds and scored seven points.

Lexy Karvonen made the only three-ball for Perham in a game they were outshot from behind the arc 14-1, a 42-3 point differential. Karvonen scored nine points.

Perham held the Wildcats to just 8-21 shooting from the field, while Perham launched 55 attempts making only 16 (29 percent).
