Winskowski named publisher of Park Rapids Enterprise
Detroit Lakes Tribune and Becker County Record publisher Dennis Winskowski will add the Park Rapids Enterprise publisher position to his list of responsibilities beginning Aug. 25.
Winskowski is succeeding Rory Palm, who is leaving the Enterprise after seven years to become publisher of the Daily Republic in Mitchell, S.D. All of the newspapers are owned by Forum Communications Company of Fargo, N.D.
Winskowski oversees a group of newspapers known as the Lakes Group for the company. These newspapers include Park Rapids, Detroit Lakes, Perham, Wadena, Alexandria and Morris. Adding the publishing duties in Park Rapids will mean more time in the Enterprise office for Winskowski. He returns to the Enterprise publisher’s position after having served in the same position in 1985 and 1986.
“Dennis hired some of the people in the Enterprise office and stops in there now. He is able to serve the community and staff well because of his depth of experience as well as his ability to be there,” said FCC director of newspapers Matt McMillan.
"It has been an honor to work for Dennis. He is an excellent mentor and leader who cares about his people and the product. The staff of the Enterprise have become a part of my family. I will miss each of them, and I know under Dennis's leadership they will continue to be the hard-working, dedicated, game changers I've come to know. Park Rapids is a wonderful place to have lived and worked. It is a great community," said Rory Palm.
“I’m really looking forward to again joining a great and committed Enterprise staff, most of whom I’ve know personally, and some who I’ve worked with professionally for nearly 30 years. This is home to Carol and me, and we fortunately have many good friends here,” Winskowski said.
Winskowski was president of the Minnesota Newspaper Association in 2000 to 2001. He has been active in many civic organizations during the years and intends to be active in the community.
The Park Rapids Enterprise is owned by Forum Communications Company, a multimedia information company based in Fargo, which owns dozens of newspapers, websites, television and radio stations and commercial printing plants in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
