The after hours entertainment starts with a jazz concert Friday night, Jan. 16, at the ITOW Veterans Museum.

The kick-off for the Ronald McDonald Ride is Jan. 17, starting with bingo and activities at 1 p.m., with a dance starting at 8:30 p.m.

Also Jan. 17 is a ballroom dance, featuring a genuine big band, at the Perham Area Community Center.

Thumper hosts "Inauguration Party"

Ottertail's Thumper Pond will host two dance events over the next two weekends. On Friday, Jan. 16, it will be an "Inauguration Party," as the Otter Tail County DFL group celebrates the election of Barack Obama with hors d'oeuvres and music by "Fat Daddy," from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Ballroom dance featured at PACC Jan. 17

The Perham Area Community Center will be hosting a benefit dance for Perham's Promise (a non-profit organization that works with children of all ages and their families) on January 17, at the PACC gymnasium.

The evening will feature a 16-piece big band, "Doc and the Scrubs," with ballroom dancing and demonstrations. Concessions will be served by the Perham Girl Scouts, as a fundraiser. Free dance lessons will be offered during the dance.

This is a non-alcoholic event.

The major sponsors of the event are Medica Medicare Solutions and the Center for Healthy Aging, local businesses.

"Doc and the Scrubs" was founded in 1991 by Dr. Bob Watson, and is comprised of area musicians, from age 20 to over 80.

The event is $5 per person or $12 per family. It is open to the public. Donations will also be requested for Perham's Promise.
