According to Perham Activities and Athletic Director Fred Sailer, the young man involved graduated from Wadena-Deer Creek last spring. This has since been confirmed as two years ago, according to Brian Hansel, of the Wadena-Pioneer Journal.

The man, J.D. Olson, was transported to Perham Health and held overnight, before being released this morning.

According to sources at Wadena-Deer Creek, the Wolverines' alum has been receiving medical attention at the University of Minnesota for a pre-existing lung condition and will travel there for further treatment.

Athletic Director Norm Gallant of Wadena-Deer Creek declined comment on behalf of the school due to Olson not currently being enrolled at the school.

Play resumed after the incident. Wadena-Deer Creek won the match 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-16).
