Woman arrested for leaving car stranded on railroad tracks in Moorhead
MOORHEAD -- A Fargo woman was arrested early this morning after leaving her car stranded on the railroad tracks and going into a Moorhead bar.
Jessica Schneider, 32, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence and refusal to submit to alcohol testing.
Police were called at 12:10 a.m. by Burlington Northern officials, reporting a silver Grand Am was on the railroad tracks and the owner was believed to be inside J.C. Chumley's.
Moorhead Police Sgt. Mike Detloff said the woman was parked in the back parking lot and tried to drive north over the tracks where there is no road.
The accident did cause some damage to the tracks, but not enough to prevent trains from traveling on it, Detloff said.
