Yellowjacket community pep band for winter sports; players sought
Since their initial foray into having a combined high school-community pep band went pretty well for a football game this fall, the Perham High School Activities Department is looking to repeat it for the winter sports season.
In order to plan, there will be a short organizational meeting this Friday, December 11, before the boys basketball game against Breckenridge.
They will meet in the Prairie Wind Middle School band room at 6:30 p.m.
Pep band director, Kurt Hoesly, wants to be very clear that the pep band is not an enormous time commitment. In fact, the initial plan is to schedule the pep band for only 4 or 5 dates.
The Contemporary Music Project, a new class at the high school, will be performing for 4 or 5 other games, and the Electric String Quintet is scheduled for some others.
Instrumentalists of any age are welcome to be a part of the group-even if they haven't played for several years, or don't have an instrument anymore. Players are asked to bring their calendars, in order to help with selecting which dates will work for the group.
If you are interested, but can't make it to the meeting, please call the PHS Activities Department or send an email to Kurt Hoesly: email@example.com.
