Yellowjacket Speech Team takes first at Sections: 11 students will go on to State

The Yellowjacket Speech Team took first at Sections in Underwood on Saturday.

The team sent 33 competitors from the Sub-section to the Section tournament. At Sections, 18 competitors made it into the final rounds.

Perham scored more than 35 points over the second place team of Parkers Prairie and more than 65 points over the third place team from Breckenridge.

The team will be sending 11 competitors on to State competition this coming Saturday at Blaine High School. There will be 13 categories in competitive speech and the team is sending a representative in 10 of those 13 categories.
