Dating, mating is focus of book by author with Perham area connections

Author and speaker Kally Reynolds visited the area last week, promoting her book and making speaking appearances. Her sister is Lynn Ruther, longtime Perham area resident.

An author with Perham-area connections has penned a book on relationships, "for women who have been there before."

Author, life coach and speaker Kally Reynolds visited East Otter Tail last week. Her sister is Lynn Ruther, who has lived in the Perham area for about 30 years. In addition to visiting family, Reynolds had several speaking engagements in Minnesota.

"Of Frogs and Princes: Reflections on relating, dating and mating" is the title of the new book by Reynolds, who has been a frequent visitor to area for many years.

She describes the book, which is available at Bev's Book Nook in Perham, as a collection of wisdom-much of it from her own experience, but also quotes and passages inspired by others.

"When women have bad experiences, so often they carry old baggage with them-when it is a time to let go of the old; embrace the new, and go forward," said Reynolds, who lives in Illinois, and is a consultant. Her consulting business is Renaissance Journeys, LLC.

In addition to appearances and workshops with organizations, Reynolds also books with businesses and corporations as a speaker and coach.

While the primary audience for her book is women, she has a growing number of men who enjoy the book and have attended workshops.

"I've been surprised at how many compliments we get from men," she noted.
