The 2010 New York Mills Teen Talent Contest and Art Show took place Friday, May 21 and was a huge success.

The art show began at 5 p.m. in the NY Mills School commons and ran until 7 p.m.

The talent contest began at 7 p.m. in the James W. Mann Center for the Performing Arts.

Parents and community members enjoyed dinner as well, with a grill-out.

Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the NY Mills Close-Up and art programs.

"The community, parents, staff and students all played a huge role in making it a fun and memorable night. We ran out of food for the grill-out that was during the art show, and it was practically standing room only for the talent contest. The money generated will help over 20 Close-Up students make their way to Washington D.C. and New York City next spring," said Jason Boe, event organizer. "We hope everyone enjoyed the night and we look forward to doing it again next year."
