Shakespeare in the Park is playing in Detroit Lakes Area actors present "The Merry Wives of Windsor"

"The Merry Wives of Windsor" is playing in the Detroit Lakes City Park, with shows July 1, 2, 3. Show time is 7 p.m., except for Sunday, which is 2 p.m. All shows are free and open to the public.

"The Merry Wives of Windsor" is about two wily women who make a fool of Sir John Falstaff over and over again as he tries unsuccessfully to seduce them. It's a wild ride through dirty laundry, mistaken identities, a pair of antlers and a lot of crazy characters. See children dressed as fairies. See Sir John Falstaff get thrown into a river and show up dressed as a deer. See the Detroit Lakes City Park get covered in women's underwear. Wonder what on earth was in Shakespeare's wine glass when he wrote this one: we dare anyone who thinks Shakespeare is boring to come and see this show.

The cast includes: Tanner Yocom as Sir John Falstaff, Megan Wutzke as Pistol, Olivia Hoff as Nym, Allison Spurlin as Bardolpha, Alycia Windingland as Robin, Bobby Heimark as Robert Shallow, Tyler Glander as Abraham Slender, Jessica Hembre as Polly Simple, Jake Larson as Frank Ford, Maggie Olson as Mistress Alice Ford, Eric Alvarez as George Page, Joy Sunram as Mistress Meg Page, Katie Anderson, Miss Anne Page, Jim Sinclair as Sir Hugh Evans, Christopher Damlo as Doctor Caius, Shawn Alvarez as Mistress Quickly, Linda Hinrichs as Hostess of the Garter Inn, Kevin Walen as Fenton, Michael Medsen as John Rugby, Katelyn Johnson as Patsy/Fairy, Ellanna Stuma as Janey/Fairy, Dillon Spurlin as Peter/Goblin.
