Regional Art Show opens at Cultural Center
The 13th Annual Regional Art Show, a non-juried exhibition, opened this week at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center. The show will be open until June 5 and features 80 works, including oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, photographs, mixed media, sculpture, and drawings representing more than 40 artists from Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
The general public is invited to a reception honoring the artists on Wednesday, May13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Among the artists whose work is in the show are Bridget Riversmith from Duluth, Merry Reimler from Minneapolis, Ellen Eilers from Alexandria, Sher Elkin of Ottertail, Jan Smith of Clitherall, and Tim Cassidy of New York Mills.
The public is invited to vote for their favorite piece with a $100 award for this "People's Choice" award. In addition, five awards of $25 each will be made in five categories: photography, painting, drawing, mixed media, and sculpture.
These awards will be presented at the reception for the artists on May 13. The People's Choice award will be made at the conclusion of the show.
