Haunted Museum will feature bizarre local lore

October means one thing at the Otter Tail County Historical Society: it’s time for the annual Haunted Museum.

There is something about the crisp cool air and freshly fallen leaves that stir up stories of grisly murders, ax waving maniacs and other blood-curdling tales. So the museum gets a bit ghoulish – for good reason.

The history of Otter Tail County is replete with stories that are shocking, spine tingling and bizarre. Held in a darkened museum, storytellers and actors will present accounts of local tales too horrifying to mention. Many of the events have become legend, to the point that the truth has been obscured.

With the addition of several “new” stories this year, the Haunted Museum will provide an opportunity to go beyond the rumors to get the real, gory details.

The Haunted Museum will be open on Friday, Oct. 25, with shows at 2 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Admission is $5.
