Two choirs, one concert this Friday at Perham Center for the Arts

Two choirs are set to perform at the Perham Center for the Arts on Friday, March 14.

The University of Jamestown Concert Choir will stop in Perham as part of its spring tour, and Perham High School’s choir will perform as well.

At 7:30 p.m., the Perham choir will kick off the night, with the university group following.

Perham’s choir will sing two or three songs, said director Kevin Kosiak. One of those songs, “Psalm 150” was described by Kosiak as “very rhythmical and lively.”

The Jamestown choir will follow, performing works from a variety of composers and time periods.

The university concert choir has a reputation for its performing excellence and has toured the United States, Europe and China. The choir is preparing for its 11th international tour with stops in Budapest, Prague, Leipzig, Vienna and Berlin.

Perham graduate and former Miss Perham, Paige Meyer, orchestrated the joint concert, according to Kosiak. She is the university choir’s tour manager and has acted as a liaison between the groups.

There is no cost for admission, but a freewill offering will be collected.
