Minneapolis-based Mixed Blood Theatre will present the play “The Deaf Duckling” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 4, at the Cultural Center in New York Mills.

“The Deaf Duckling” intertwines the familiar ‘ugly duckling’ fairy tale with the story of a deaf child who is born into a hearing family.

Originally produced by Mixed Blood in 2005 and revived four years later, the play features both deaf and hearing actors in the cast of three: David Baughman and James Gardner join returning cast member Erin McGovern, under the direction of playwright Aditi Kapil.

Carol Myhre, of Perham, has underwritten the performance in order to help make it available to the community.

Tickets are available at the Cultural Center or by calling 218-385-3339. More information about the play and this performance is available at
