Celtic music coming to ITOW

Minnesota-based Celtic music group, Ring of Kerry, will perform at the ITOW Veterans Museum in Perham on Saturday, March 3 at 7 p.m.

Ring of Kerry plays Irish music on a variety of Celtic instruments, including whistles, flutes, guitar, hammered dulcimer, fiddle and bodhran. At times, Ring of Kerry is a raucous pub band enticing its crowd to sing along, stomp their feet and join in the merriment. Other times, they perform hauntingly beautiful serenades.

Ring of Kerry's specialty is playing highly energetic and engaging concerts that leave audiences asking for more.

Each band member brings his or her own musical influences and expertise to the group, taking an active roll in creating the Ring of Kerry sound. They all sing, play several instruments and revel in the spirit of Celtic music.

The group's sound is a unique blend of Paul Finegan Cotton's thundering, yet at times delicate bodhran playing; Paul Blondell's lilting good-natured fiddle and mandolin; Charlie Roth's sizzling guitar and songwriting; Paul Imholte's weaving and bright hammered dulcimer and mandolin; and Karie Oberg's beautiful vocals and haunting flute and pennywhistle.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. ITOW is located at 805 West Main in Perham.
