Work underway at Perham water tower

Resurfacing work has started on the Perham south side water tower.

City Engineer Jade Berube said crews started hauling in equipment last week, and were working on the tower by Friday.

Workers are starting with the interior of the tower, which is being cleaned and recoated. That process will take about two to three weeks, Berube said. By mid-August, work will begin on the exterior of the tower, starting with a cleaning and then moving on the painting phase.

The tower is being repainted into a black and yellow theme, and will feature the Perham public schools’ Yellowjackets mascot.
