Lucille "Lu" Wilhemina Marie Albee

Lucille "Lu" Wilhemina Marie Albee, 86, of Park Rapids, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids. 

She was born and raised in Latimer, Iowa. She and her family lived in Wayzata, Minn., Kansas City, Kan., Old Greenwich, Conn., and Deephaven, Minn.

After a successful career as a teacher, realtor, church and community volunteer, she managed Albee's Little Sand Resort, Park Rapids, for 24 years.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold L., who lives in the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis; three daughters: Julie (Dale) Lusti of Buffalo, and Katy Harris and Ellen Albee, both of Park Rapids; two sons: Buzz, of Park Rapids, and David (Angela) of St. Paul; six grandchildren; six great-grand- children; a sister: Bernadine Cherry, of Benton, Ark.; and a brother: Wendell Kragel, of Newell, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy.

Funeral service: 1 p.m. today (Wednesday), Jan. 14 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Park Rapids with Rev. Charles House officiating. The congregational hymn will be "A Closer Walk with Thee." Dale Lusti will sing "How Great Thou Art," and Chris Albee and Rich Lusti will sing "Amazing Grace."

Casket bearers: Liz and Rich Lusti, Nate and Jim Harris, and Chris, Dave and Buzz Albee.

Interment: Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis in the spring.

Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids.
