'New' Turtle Fest planning continues

The deadline is approaching for entries in the coloring contest and the "Name the Turtle Fest Turtle" contest.

Meanwhile, Perham's Turtle Fest schedule features a packed line-up.

Also, 2008 marks the return of the Turtle Fest button--which helps raise funds for the event. More than 800 of the buttons have already been sold. The button entitles the wearer to discounts at Perham businesses, as well as a chance at prize drawings.

There are many changes and new additions to the Turtle Fest schedule.

The parade is now at 7 p.m. on Friday night, followed by the Perham Jaycees downtown street dance. Also, the Cruisers annual car show has been moved to June 21, to coincide with Turtle Fest--and it will be held near the downtown art and craft sale, which features vendors two days, June 20-21.

Parade entries are rapidly coming in. For information on how to register for the parade, call the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce at 218-346-7710.
