2008 East Otter Tail County Fair concludes
The 2008 East Otter Tail County Fair wrapped up its four day run July 20.
Attendance was down overall, but several events were very successful.
Sunday attendance, often one of the slower days, was a pleasant surprise. With nearly 1,000 recorded at the gate-- Sunday's attendance was up 100 over last year, according to fair office manager Jess Steeke.
The fair got off to a somewhat slow start on Thursday, with 1,034 at the gate.
Friday's attendance was 905, down about 70 from last year.
A total of 1,644 people came through the gate Saturday, which was slightly down from the 2007 fair. Saturday featured the popular tractor pull event.
"Overall, attendance was down a bit from last year," said fair board officer Rick Breitenfeldt.
The Midway operator was pleased with turnout, according to Breitenfeldt, and has booked back for next year.
Attendance at the tractor pull and demo derbies was on par with last year, noted Breitenfeldt.
The Perham Lions bingo was reportedly up over last year, he added.
