'End of Summer' celebration in Richville
On Saturday, August 30, the Richville Lions Club will sponsor the annual Pasture Party that signals the end of summer activities.
The event begins at 3 p.m, with kid's games including mutton bustin', pig races, a petting zoo, and a straw hunt. These and many more games for the kids will continue throughout the day.
At 4:00 the St. Lawrence Church Relay for Life team will host Bingo games. Bingo of a non-traditional type involving a bull and squares marked in a field is also scheduled.
The annual truck and tractor pull will kick off at 5:00. For more information on that event, please contact Arv at 218-282-0327.
Tug of war contests will begin at 6:00. Anyone wishing to enter a team may contact Lisa at 346-5318. From 7 until 11, a mechanical bull will be available for thrills and hopefully, not too many spills. It can be set to accommodate people of all ages, skill levels, and risk tolerances.
Nighttime activities will begin with a DJ dance at 8:00. Summer in Richville will officially end with a bonfire (weather permitting).
Events will all take place in the enclosed pasture about ½ mile west of Richville on County 14.
The Perham Lions will provide a food court, and a beer garden will also be available on the grounds. Bring a lawn chair, sun screen, and be prepared for a ton of family fun.
For more information, please contact Lisa at 346-5318 or Jeff at 346-6089.
