Many issues concern this right-winger!

A couple of weeks ago a gentleman stated the religious right were concerned with only a single issue and he asked citizens to identify and rank their top 10 issues, so here are mine: 1. Ban abortion; end the legalized shedding of innocent blood. 2. Preserve traditional marriage; prevent the courts and government from redefining an institution established by God. 3. Protect embryonic stem cells; do not allow the destruction of potential human life. 4. Follow Article one, Sec eight; making taxes uniform, not progressive. Reverse inroads that socialism has made in this country (wealth redistribution). 5. Defend the second amendment; maintain the right to keep and bear arms. 6. Sustain the fifth amendment; stop the courts from taking private property from its citizens without just compensation. 7. Uphold the ninth amendment; preserve the rights of individual citizens from an overreaching federal government. 8. Safeguard the tenth amendment; take back the rights that belong to the States from an ever increasing federal government. 9. Guard free speech and the first amendment; from those on the left pushing the "The Fairness Doctrine". 10. Retain U.S. sovereignty; stop yielding authority to the U.N.

To label conservatives as radical is an oxymoron. We believe, as did our forefathers, God's law is supreme in the universe, and the U.S. constitution is the highest law in the land. These two pillars have made this the greatest nation on earth. In order to retain a more perfect union, we must elect leaders that will uphold the constitution. Government's role is to provide for the common defense; so elect leaders that will protect our nation from possible terrorist attacks, potential hostilities and impending threats. Do not select Dove's that require or seek U.N.'s approval. Vote for candidates that promote the general welfare, not ones that provide welfare for some. Choose judges that establish justice, not promote rehabilitation. Some judges have more sympathy for criminals than for the victims. Elect leaders who allow and support law enforcement to insure domestic tranquility, not ones that tie their hands. Prefer politicians that will secure the blessings of liberty for the citizenry, not those who build their power base in Washington D.C. by promising programs with excessive taxation.

This guy spoke of our standing in the world community. We are a sovereign nation, and need not look to other nations for approval. Leaders are to do what's in the best interest of its citizens. George Washington's farewell address; "As avenues to foreign influence in innumerable ways, such attachments are particularly alarming to the truly enlightened and independent patriot." "Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence (I conjure you to believe me, fellow-citizens) the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of Republican government." "The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible".

He also cited the false assertion of "Separation of Church and State", which exists nowhere in any official U.S. document. The founders concerns were that government may attempt to control the church, not that Christianity would be detrimental toward public policy. George Washington's farewell address; Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. "It is substantially true that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government."

After touting the principles of separation of church and state, this person writes about medical care, education, human needs, proposed programs, and poverty. The constitution gives no authority to the federal government on these issues. Charity and needs of people are the responsibility of families, individuals, communities and churches. Government's role is not to take care of us, but to defend us.

He mentions the religious right, but makes no mention of the religious left; Jeremiah Wright, Father Pfleger, Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Michael Lerner. A religion of great concern is Liberation Theology, which has its roots in Marxism.

Unity should be celebrated, not diversity. We're a melting pot, not a smorgasbord. I may eat lefse, and lutefisk, but my allegiance is to America, not Norway. One language; one set of morals. Our founding fathers were Christians and it was because of their reliance on God that we have our way of life and our freedom. Freedoms afforded even to those who burn our flag, bomb buildings and serve false gods.

No candidate satisfies my entire top ten list, but if such a person did exist, the left-wing news media and liberal press would crucify them.
