Beautification committee's work shines in Perham

With the Perham streetscape as a backdrop, members of the committee included, above from left, Kelcey Klemm, Sheri Johnson, Sue Eckes, Chuck Johnson and Kim Karjala. Sue Eckes was chairperson of the Beautification Committee.

The fruits of the labor of the Perham Beautification Committee will be shining bright this holiday season. The committee raised funds for numerous projects, including lights on the downtown Christmas trees, and the signpost banners.

The goal next year is to increase the number of banners, and also to extend them in all directions through the community. Discount cards will be sold again next spring.

A cornerstone of the fundraising was the "Beautification Discount Cards." Among those contributing to the beautification efforts were Perham Rotary, Positively Perham, Perham Memorial Hospital and Home, Otter Tail Power, ACS, Barrel O' Fun, Redline, Industrial Finishing, Advanced Structural Components, and the many businesses and individuals that participated with and bought the discount cards.
