The Jackets lost to Pelican Rapids in the semifinals, 2-0, then went into the losers bracket, where they stayed alive with a 10-5 win over Detroit Lakes. In a rematch with Pelican Rapids for the right to play Thief River Falls in the 8AA Championship, the Jackets season came to an end with a 4-2 loss.

TRF went on to win the 8AA crown with a 8-3 win over Pelican Rapids. The Prowlers finished 4th at the State Tournament, losing to Winona Cotter in the 3rd Place game. St. Anthony Village beat Annandale for the Class AA State title.

2009 Seniors: Nathan Schmitz (2008 All Conference), Anthony Ruther (2008 All Conference), Sam Meyer, Shane Miller, Tyler Lynne, Jeremy Lahr, Ben Omberg, Gavin Biegler.

Get to Know'em: Taylor Doll, Ben Bucholz, Brad Ellingson, Sam Warne, Mike Warne, Ben Brill, Andrew Muer, Shawn Stafki, John Langlie (all juniors).

Strengths: The Jackets return starters around the entire infield and one outfield position. They have quality depth behind the plate and with their pitchers, but they do not have a stand-out starter on the mound.

Season Outlook: The Mid-State will be tough. Defending champ Detroit Lakes will be strong again, with Staples-Motley, Park Rapids and Perham looking to claim this year's title.

Section 8AA will be very tough as well. Pelican Rapids, Fergus Falls, D.L. and the Jackets will look to dethrown Thief River Falls, which won't be an easy task.

Coaches Quote: "We will need to be playing our best baseball at section time to compete with some of the better teams. Our juniors and seniors have played a great deal of baseball and hopefully that experience will gel together at the right time." Hans Hanson
