NYM's citywide spring clean-up set for May 4

It's that time of year when residents are encouraged to take part in the New York Mills Spring Clean-Up Day.

The city of New York Mills will be picking up items during its annual spring clean-up to be held Monday, May 4.

Items to be picked up must be sorted and stacked seperately by type. For example, wood should be stacked in one pile, small metal items in another pile, etc.

Old tires will be picked up if they are removed from the rim and stacked seperately. All items must be curbside by 8 a.m. on Monday, May 4.

The city will charge for large items, which must be paid for prior to the pick-up date at the city office.

Branches will not be picked up, nor will any hazardous waste products, such as flourescent bulbs or empty toxic containers. Hazardous items, along with paint cans and spray paint cans, will be taken during the hazardous waste drive, tentatively scheduled for Sept. 15.
