'Garden Party' is May 1 at NY Mills school

"Give a man a vegetable and you'll feed him for a day, teach him to grow his own vegetables and you'll feed him for life."

Friday, May 1, from 3:15- 7:00 p.m. is the date and time for the 4-H Youth Garden Day to be held at the New York Mills School. The University of Minnesota Master Gardeners and 4-H have grafted together a fun afternoon of hands-on gardening projects for all area youth K-6th grade to enrich their gardening experiences, cultivate plant science knowledge and grow in life skills. Youth will have the opportunity to make a container garden, bug barn, and learn about seeds and worm bins. The program fee for the Garden Party is $7 per participant with a family maximum of $21 (an evening meal will be served).
