'Heavenly Hackers'

St. Paul's Lutheran School and St. Henry's Catholic School will be joining forces--on the golf course.

"Heavenly Hackers" is the area's newest golf tournament, and it takes place on Father's Day.

The June 21 event is a fundraiser for the St. Henry's and St. Paul's parochial schools.

The golf tourney is another example of the growth in collaboration between Perham's two private, church schools. The two schools, among other event and activities, have participated in joint field trips, some inter-school sports events, and special speakers.

Members from both church councils came up with the "Heavenly Hackers" tournament idea. Tournament participants aren't required to pray for improvement in their golf game--though it might help.

The four person scramble, with a shotgun start at 2 p.m., also includes a banquet at 5:30 p.m.

Those who are not golfers may participate in the fundraising event by having dinner. Tickets for dinner are $20.

For golf, a cart and the chicken dinner, the cost is $40.

All proceeds from the event, hosted at Perham Lakeside Golf Club and Mulligan's Pub and Eatery, will benefit St. Henry's and St. Paul's schools.
