Minnesota Public Radio working on tower problem; news and classical stations off air in lakes area

MOORHEAD - Minnesota Public Radio said today it is still working to repair the main antenna for its classical music station, KCCM 91.1, which was damaged in a storm Friday.

The station has been off the air since the storm hit.

Also, while engineers work on the tower, which is near Sabin, Minn., the signal strength for MPR's news station, KCCD 90.3 FM, has been cut in half.

As a result, KCCD has had a fuzzy signal or no signal at all in some areas.

It is uncertain when the problems will be fixed, according to Christina Schmitt, MPR public relation manager.

Schmitt said listeners who have questions or concerns may call 1-800-228-7123.
