Fargo teen, H1N1 flu victim, fighting for his life at MeritCare
FARGO - A 15-year-old Fargo boy who is infected with swine flu is in MeritCare Hospital and fighting for his life, the medical center announced today.
Keith Worthington, an eighth-grader at Ben Franklin Middle School, went to the emergency room Oct. 19 with flu-like symptoms, including coughing, a low-grade temperature and difficulty breathing.
His medical condition is critical and unstable, with an unknown prognosis.
Medical officials say his case underscores the importance of getting vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus.
