Join Farm Bureau at Big Iron

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) will be among more than 800 companies displaying at Big Iron, September 14-16 at the Red River Valley fairgrounds in West Fargo, N.D.

The Farm Bureau display will be located in the Livestock Building in booth number 29 and 30 on the southwest side of the Big Iron grounds. The updated Agriculture Transportation Handbook will be available with new laws and regulations. Minnesota Farm Bureau staff will be on hand to answer questions and to visit about priority issues. Stop by to receive free water and coffee and enter to win door prizes.

Issues and Events Center

Continuing this year is the Red River Farm Network Issues and Events Center, which will feature discussions on agriculture topics at 10:30 a.m. each day with a market seminar at 1:30 p.m. daily.

On Tuesday, the agriculture discussion is a candidate forum with the North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner candidates, Doug Goehring and Merle Boucher. The Market Seminar will feature Vig Robinson, PHI Marketing; Drew Lerner, World Weather, Inc. and Dwight Aakre, North Dakota State University.

Wednesday will feature a candidate forum at 10:30 a.m. with North Dakota U.S. Senate candidates John Hoeven and Tracy Potter. The Market Seminar will feature Andy Shissler, Roach Ag Marketing; Ray Grabanski, Progressive Ag Marketing and Betsy Jensen, Northland Community and Technical College.

The agriculture discussion on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. is "Managing Water - What's the Impact on Agriculture?" featuring Craig Hertsgaard, Cass County (N.D.) Farm Bureau President and Dan Baloun, Minnesota State Conservationist. The Market Seminar will feature Steve Wagner, Country Hedging; Bret Oelke, University of Minnesota Extension; and Dan Manternach, Doane Agricultural Services.

More than 80,000 attendees from across the nation and several other countries come to see demonstrations visit 800+ exhibitors and attend training sessions. Admission to the show is free, along with parking.
