Prepare to be chilled: Freeze Fest 2011

"Freezin for a Reason" is Feb. 12 in Perham. Participants from last year's event will be back for more brrrrrilliant fun.

On Feb. 10-13, a variety of events will be held including a broomball tournament, sno-golf, pancake breakfast, 5K race, ice fishing tournament and crowd-favorite Freezin' for a Reason'.

The schedule of events is set. On Thursday, Feb. 10, a broomball tournament will be held at 5 p.m. at Crossings Hotel. Team registration is required. Call Arnie at 218-346-2033 for more information. Teams of eight will compete. Hot drink specials will also be available in the lounge.

On Friday, Feb. 11, the first annual sno-golf tournament will be held at Perham Lakeside Golf Club. The tournament is set to start at 1 p.m. For more information, contact Nick at 218-346-6070.

Saturday includes a pan-cake breakfast sponsored by the Perham Lions Club. It will be held from 7-11 a.m. at Zorbaz on Little Pine Lake. A free will offering will be available. The Freeze Your Face 5K race registration will be held at 8 a.m. and the race will start behind the Perham Area Community Center at 9 a.m. Proceeds will go to Perham Cross-Country. The Perham Sportsman's Club will hold an ice fishing tournament on Little Pine Lake. Registration is set for 8 a.m. with a 9 a.m. start at Zorbaz. Many prizes will be on hand for all ages. For more information, contact Craig at 218-346-2121.

Finally, the second annual Freezin' for a Reason at Little Pine Lake will start with registration at noon. The jump will be held at 1 p.m. Tickets are available at the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds will benefit Kinship of the Per-ham Area. For more information, call Jill at 218-346-7102.
