549 Family Gala cancelled

Due to conflicting events, the 2011 549 Family Gala, which had been scheduled for later this month, has been cancelled.

Jo Strege, 549 Family president and gala chair, wrote in an email that the decision to cancel the gala was very difficult.

"But when the community and school are able to come together and celebrate the circumstances surrounding Perham's basketball team's Cinderella-story trip to state, we needed to step aside," she wrote.

Strege said that she had looked at having the gala on a different date, but didn't want to risk having low attendance. Strege said that she appreciated the support of everyone who helped to plan the gala, and thanks 549 Family sponsors for their support and generosity.
