Twisted Root Salon and Spa open in Perham

Owner Rachel Wiser is excited to open Twisted Root Salon and Spa in Perham.

There's nothing else Rachel Wiser would rather be doing right now.

Wiser just opened Twisted Root, a full-service salon and spa, in Perham this week.

With eight employees on staff, Twisted Root will offer facials, electrolysis, hair services, pedicures, manicures and more.

Wiser spent nine years in the Twin Cities working as a cosmetologist, which gave her plenty of good experience that she's excited to bring to Perham, she said.

Wiser said she wanted to move back to Perham from the Twin Cities because she wanted to raise her kids in Lakes Country.

"We missed the small town atmosphere. We love the lakes, we love the country," she said.

Now back in Perham and doing something that she enjoys - "I love doing hair," she said - she's excited about her new business.

"I'm open to working with our clients, and to make sure that everyone leaves feeling beautiful," she said.

Education and staying current with national salon trends will be an important part of Twisted Root, Wiser said.

So far, even though the salon has only been open for a matter of days, business has been great.

"It's been a lot busier than I thought it'd be," she said. "We've gotten lots of positive feedback from the com-munity."

Twisted Root Salon and Spa will offer Redken and Pureology products, and is located at 325 Second St. SE, and can be reached at 218-346-6508. It will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (except on Monday, when it will close at 6 p.m.), and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"We have a good team of girls here," Wiser said of her staff. "They're all very excited to get going."
