Otter Tail County sheriff's officials believe a late-night fire Saturday that destroyed a barn was accidental.

According to the sheriff's department, authorities were dispatched at about 11:30 p.m. to respond to a reported barn fire at 45656 500th St., northeast of Perham.

The barn is owned by John and Treva Mayfield of Perham.

No injuries were reported and all livestock escaped the fire safely.

The barn and a hay shed were destroyed, including about 250 bales of hay that were stored in the shed.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but it appears accidental, authorities said in a media release Sunday afternoon.
