NY Mills man, son suffer minor injuries in rollover

A New York Mills man and his son escaped serious injury after the vehicle they were in slid into a ditch, hit a tree and rolled.

Richard McPherson, age 34, was traveling with his son northbound on 530th Avenue, one mile south of County Highway 67, on Nov. 27 when he lost control of his 2005 Chevy Tahoe, a press release from the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office stated.

The Tahoe skidded 180 degrees before sliding into the ditch, hitting a tree and rolling, landing on the driver’s side.

McPherson and his son were able to get out of the vehicle on their own, the release states, and were transported by Tri-County Ambulance to Perham Health, where they were both treated for minor injuries and then released.

The New York Mills fire and police departments, and the Minnesota State Patrol, assisted at the scene.
