MORRIS – A woman was killed in a motor vehicle-train crash just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday in Morris. On Thursday, the Morris Police Department identified the victim as Lisa Daleo, age 53, of Alberta, Minn.

Daleo was the only occupant of a motor vehicle traveling westbound on Fifth Street, Highway 28, which was struck by a BNSF train heading north, Morris Police Chief Ross Tiegs said.

Daleo was taken to Stevens Community Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The train stopped blocking three roads through Morris – Fifth Street, Sixth Street and County Road 22 – for about three hours on Wednesday afternoon. Morris Police Department Sgt. Jason Reed said the train remained in place while investigators with BNSF continued their inspection.

The Morris Police Department is actively investigating the incident and will release more details in the future.

Responding to the scene were the Morris Police Department, Stevens County Sheriff's Office, Morris Fire Department and Stevens County Ambulance Service.
