71-year-old man injured in motorcycle crash

Two motorcycles collided on Highway 59 near milepost 243, causing one rider to sustain non-life threatening injuries, Thursday evening.

Just before 5 p.m., Everett Michael Quiggle, 67, of Barnesville and Kenneth James Bauer, 71, of Barnesville were travelling northbound on Highway 59, when Quiggle began to slow his Harley Davidson to allow a vehicle to turn off Highway 59. The Harley Davidson driven by Bauer then crashed into Quiggle’s motorcycle, rolled, and came to a rest in the southbound lane of Highway 59.

Bauer was taken to Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes with non-life threatening injuries. He had been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which occurred on dry pavement.
