One injured after vehicle collides with semi

A man was injured Thursday (July 13) afternoon after pulling out in front of a tractor-trailer rig on Highway 71.

Ahmed Abi Ali, 35, of Menaga, was driving a Ford Escape and pulled out of the Dollar General parking lot and in front of a 2013 Freightliner Cascadia semi, equipped with a trailer.

Ali was transported to the Park Rapids Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The semi truck driver, Adam Shide Bulle, 38, of Grand Forks, did not sustain injuries in the crash, which occurred on dry pavement.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, and alcohol was not a factor, according to the Minnesota State Patrol report.
