Motorcyclist struck from motorcycle by deer


While travelling northbound on Highway 59, a motorcyclist was struck from a motorcycle by a deer.

The motorcycle come to a rest on the shoulder of the highway after continuing on for approximately 300 feet, after the driver, Dean Earl Nelson, 61, of Erhard, was struck from it.

Nelson, 61, of Erhard, was wearing leathers and a helmet and sustained minor injuries. He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
