Minor injuries in car crash near Pelican Rapids
A vehicle crash near Pelican Rapids, at the intersection of 190th Avenue and 410th Street near the south side of town, resulted in minor injuries to three juveniles.
There were four juveniles in the car which included a juvenile driver. The single-vehicle accident took place at 4:13 p.m. on Sunday, March 4.
County Sheriff Administrative Lt. Keith Van Dyke said on Monday that muddy and slushy conditions contributed to the accident.
"The vehicle left the roadway and rolled once," said Van Dyke. "It was fortunate that nobody had more serious injuries. All occupants were wearing seat belts."
He said the older-model vehicle sustained heavy damage and it's unlikely it can be repaired.
Snowmobiler injured southwest of Vergas
A snowmobiler from rural Pelican Rapids, 44-year-old Lisa Rieber, received minor injuries in an accident at 10:36 a.m. on March 3 near Loon Lake, southwest of Vergas.
Rieber told first responders from Vergas that she had pain in her right shoulder and right hip.
The accident took place near Highway 4.
Money stolen from vehicle in Henning
A teenager from Henning reported on March 3 that $100 was stolen from his unlocked vehicle in the community.
Sheriff deputies inform county residents that it's a good idea to lock vehicles when people are away from cars, trucks and other vehicles even if there are no valuables left inside.
"It's always a good idea to remove valuables from vehicles and keep the doors locked," says County Sheriff Administrative Lt. Keith Van Dyke.
Assault in Deer Creek
Sheriff deputies reported that an assault took place Feb. 28 in Deer Creek and that a male juvenile was arrested.
The juvenile was taken to the multi-county juvenile center in Moorhead. Areas counties, including Otter Tail County, contract with Clay County for detention services on the north side of Moorhead.
A juvenile court appearance was forthcoming.
