Driver injured in one-vehicle crash

Charges are pending against a 28-year-old Pelican Rapids man who drove his vehicle off the roadway and struck two approaches, at one point sending his vehicle into the air.

The driver, Jeffrey Kugler, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.

The one-vehicle accident occurred at 2:23 a.m. Saturday, June 1, along County Road 10 near Elizabeth.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office said Kugler was traveling westbound when his 1998 Hyundai drifted off the roadway and struck an approach, sending the vehicle air-born. The vehicle then struck a second approach and came to a halt.

Kugler was transported to Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, where he was treated for his injuries.

Charges were pending at press time.
